Is your driveway newly laid? Perhaps, you have recently installed a new bitumen driveway, and you think it looks great. A new driveway can greatly enhance the appearance of the exterior of your property, but how can you be sure that your new driveway surface is properly protected? Maybe, you are looking out of your front window at a driveway that is exhibiting cracks and potholes, and you are wondering why your driveway didn't last? Often the answer to these questions comes down to driveway spray sealing.

1. Maintaining a waterproof surface

When your new driveway is installed, it will be perfect, but it will still be porous. If water can enter your driveway, it will begin to damage the surface, and it won't be long before potholes, bumps, and cracks begin to manifest. To ensure that the driveway remains waterproof, consider hiring driveway spray sealing services. Spraying a bitumen spray binder over the entire surface area of the driveway will prevent water from accessing the driveway and ensure that the surface will not be easily damaged. In addition to preserving a waterproof surface over the driveway, there are other advantages offered by driveway spray sealing.

2. A non-skid surface

Have you ever slipped over on a driveway? Maybe, the weather was wet and the smooth surface of the driveway didn't provide sufficient grip for your feet? When you arrange for driveway spray sealing, you can have a layer of aggregate added to cover the binder. While the binder provides the waterproof layer, the aggregate creates a non-slip, non-skid surface that ensures both vehicles and people are safe as they cross the driveway to enter or leave your property. If you want a particularly skid-resistant surface, you can ask the driveway spray sealing company to adjust the spray mixture to create the surface you need. They should also be able to help if you have concerns about the longevity of the spray because of particularly heavy traffic volumes.

3. Effective driveway management

If your driveway surface has been installed for a few years, and you are concerned that the driveway spray sealing may no longer be as effective as it once was, why not talk to the driveway spray sealing company and see if they can respray the surface? Regular driveway spray sealing is the best way to ensure the driveway remains waterproof and isn't quickly damaged, whatever the weather may bring.
